Why I hate PC gaming, and cant stand PC gamers!

23 Feb

This will be my first rant on gaming and belive me a rant it shall be. I am pissed off! But first I need to share a little bit of a backstory.

A little bit of a backstory

I don´t know if you´ve heard but Xbox One came out and it was awful. As a 360 player I wanted the Xbox one to be good, but that console was purely made for the developers. The consumers it had the least in mind (if at all). Everything was wrong with the console and the list grew longer everyday. From the start it was bound to fail, but just when you thought Microsoft couldn’t stoup any lower they seemed to find a new way.

The Xbone, as it soon would be called, became a parody of a sleazy merchant trying to sell all kinds of disadvantages as something positive. I soon got the feeling I should retire as a gamer and focus on my yacht sailing, poetry writing or basket weaving instead. The Xbone was just not apperticing and there was no other gaming platform I wanted to jump on.

I never liked Playstation. I found it always to be an impersonal console that always was “more powerful” than competitors… but that was it. No innovation other than pixel power. The PS4 was the same thing. Oh, yes, it was “more powerful” than Xbone and Wii U. So what else is new? That has always been the case. Sony likes the console monster but it has nothing more to offer than power.

The Wii U had the opposite problem. Where Sony had much power but no innovation, Wii U had no power and all innovation. I got burned by the old Wii and knew that a new Wii U was not an option. Being on the console losing side is always a sad thing. When every other game is sold on the other consoles and you got some obscure games no one want to play.

It seemed that no console was for me. Then a friend of mine got converted into the cult of PC gaming. He, as me, was a 360 player who knew that the Xbone was not an option. If Microsoft didnt turn their wicked ways then we had to go elsewhere for our e-game fun. My friend had discovered Steam and wanted be to awaken and see the joy of PC gaming aswell. I said “No!”. I had been a PC gamer myself back in the day and I knew for experience that PC gaming was worse than most.

The Rant!

getontheforums

PC gaming is the worst! It is the most annoying thing ever!!! To me it is a riddle how someone can even be bothered with it as everything is a effing hazzle. Yes, you get the best graphic on PC. Yes, a mouse makes a better aimer than a joystick. AND THAT IS IT!!! Everything else is better on a console. Here is a list of the top 5 worst things about playing on a PC.

1) Constant compatibility stress!

Every year new chips, cards and other hardware is put out on marked. And games on PC always is the cutting edge when it comes to graphics. That is its good side. The bad side is that this makes stress for game buyers as they have to make sure that the game is possible to play on their computer. If you have a mac then certain games are not usable on that. If you use linux fewer games still. And then it is a question of OS. I had to buy a new computer to play the EXPANSION PACK on StarCraft 2. I got a message from Blizzard that said that the next update for StarCraft 2 would make it incompatible with my Mac OS. What the FUUUUUUUUU?!?! Then I bought a cheap new computer with Windows 8. Now I can finally play StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm but it is a bit laggy of course. You know, since I bought a laptop that was suppose to be a little more than a gaming platform.

2) Installing games
Having to install games is annoying. I know that consoles have to do it now aswell, but that is dumb. Especially when you have to write in configuration keys and register online etc. etc. I dont even think the Xbone demands that much installing.

3) Outdated computers.
When you buy a console you buy it for convenience. If the game says Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii you know it is going to work on your console. That is not so on PC. I have written above about computability issues. And there is a lot of those. One of them is having computer that is not the newest. I remember that from youth. I bought a computer and was so happy cuz now I could play the latest games. Two-three years later I could still buy games that was new but… it was bad! Really, really bad. The games were lagging, even on low resolution. The computer froze constantly and the gaming experience was not enjoyable at all. I could ofcourse just “buy a new computer” or “buy new hardware” and I did that. But that is stress and inconvinence. When I have to update everything from hardrive to grapchic card just to play a game. That is annoying!

4) Bugs and glitches.
Sometime you get errors when playing a console game, but when you get them on PC you have to figure them out for yourself. If a console game isnt working you know its most likley a fault with the disc. On computers it can be a hardware problem, a drive problem, a disc problem, a hard drive problem, memory problem, a virus or you just forgot to “change the thing”. Troubleshooting on console is saying a swear and return to the store. Troubleshooting on console means hours on forums looking for patches.

5) Every little problem demands that you have to be a computer ace.
Ok. I have been a pc gamer sine the DoS era. I have installed games, and adjusted settings in dos! You know that black and white thing? If you can understand Dos you can understand most and I have time and time again tried to figure out what is wrong with this and that and found out on my own or by forum help. BUT I do not think its relaxing fun. Perhaps PC gamers think that the time and preparation for playing a game is part of the fun of gaming… But I DO NOT! I think its a hazzle and an annoyance. Today I was on steam and wanted to play a game I bought. I had tried it with a mouse and keyboard but found out that it was very troublesome to play like that so decided to finally try to use mt Xbox360 controller. You can do that you know and its “EASY”! Easy, of course in computer terms, means hours trying to figure out why it wasnt easy at all. I plugged in my controller, the computer registered it, but nothing happened. Then I went on forums. I installed drivers (that was already on my computer) and now it seems that I can not use that 360 type controller. It has to be another type. FUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

Conclusion

All gamers are nerds in some way. Many can be asocial, weird, rude and sometimes downright anti-social. But you wont find bigger nerds than the PC gamer. The person who thinks that countless hours of preparation to play a game is “fun”. I would even go as far as saying that PC gamers aren’t gamers at all as the focus of playing games is secondary to to high graphics and latest tech stuff. If you enjoy bragging about what types of resolution your game have your sort of forgot what gaming is all about.

I feel this post was writing because you were a huge xbox fan that got burned by the xbox one. Im a pc gamer and a console gamer(ps4) and trust me there are advantages and disadvantages on both systems. Steam has made everything so much easier, cheaper and it has been a huge help to the industry in the way you cant trade in games you buy. If your not a pc gamer thats fine but dont write a post on something you obviously know very little about. Most people have problems when they dont invest in a gaming rig and expect to play new titles on a 3 year old labtop. Would you give out about a car owner that keeps it clean and serviced to get the most from it…so what if gamers take pride in having the best gaming rig, what gives you the right to judge them!

Well, I said that in the post, didnt I? But I didnt get “burned” since I didnt buy it. But I didnt like it.

      You said:

I do know alot about it. I have been for long periods of time played more on PC than on console. I didnt own a console in the period between the NES and Game Cube. In that period I only played on PC. Not by choice but because as a kid you can´t buy everything you want and I didnt get any console so I had to use the family computer. I just appreciate the convenience of console.

I just said my opinion on PC gaming. Its not that great.

I understand that pc gaming can get complicated at times and iv no problem with people that dislike it. What bothered me about your post was the second part of ur headline abot hating pc gamers. Iv read through your blog and have a great interest in many of the things you write about, just as a pc gamer i felt it was my duty to fight my corner. I will say that if you havnt used a pc for gaming in a while, try it out. Steam has come on alot in the past few years and it has helped with the overall experience. Installing games has been made alot easier also the price of games is sometimes crazy. Far cry 3 was on sale at the weekend for 5.99!

“Hate” is a word that is used as hyperbole. It´s very popular now to use. I like to use strong wordings like “rant” and “hate” etc.

I dont hate PC gamers (I even say I had a newly converted PC gamer fanatic as a friend). I don´t hate anyone really. The problem is that too many PC gamers tell me that PC gaming is the best gaming and I say it isnt for the reasons mentioned above.

For instance, when keeping myself posted on the situation of Xbox One in horror, I also read the comments below the articles and videos. Time and time again some PC gamer felt the need to ridicule console players and say that “they were the elite gamers“. There are 3 types of gamer fanboys; PS, Xbox and PC (no body cares about the Wii). But to me PC fanboys are the worst and most annoying.

You say:I will say that if you havent used a pc for gaming in a while, try it out.

I have. I have played StarCraft 2 (with expansion) and I got a steam account where I have bought 4-5-6 games. Things havent changed that much. It still feels like a problem and far more uncomfortable. I have now Ethan Meteor Hunter, The Stanley Parable and Fallout 1,2 & strategy and some free games that I rarely play. My friend tells me time and time again how I should move over to Steam but I will not do that. PC gaming is a hassle and will continue to be a hassle.

What fascinates me is that if I were to ask my friend he could go on long lectures about how much greater PC gaming is and I dont agree with him at all. Console playing was a plug and play experience (I know the latest gen has changed that somewhat) where borrowing games from each other was easy. Playing together was a great social experience and there was never any worries about wether or not I would get the full game experience when putting it in my console. If you enjoy games for the game, console is the best. If you enjoy the game as a tech features, you will enjoy PC.

I will not buy a 1-3000$ gaming computer just to have better screen resolution and then swearing at the screen as I mised the N button on my keyboard (or some other awkward keyboard set-up) or swear at the screen cuz this game doesn not understand my USB controller or this game needs a patch to run or this game has a known bug that needs countless hours of forum browsing and unhelpful setup tips. If I have a problem with GTA online (as many ha had) on console the answer was easy: Rockstar failed to deliver. If that was a PC game you needet a patch, then reinstall the game, then perhaps the i.p address was arguing with the server then… You get the picture right?

I am not ignorant to PC gaming. I know very well what it is; A far too complicated thing to enjoy for the gamer who just wants to play games.

          • TheAlphaZone February 25, 2014 at 10:23 am #

After your explanation in your reply I realise that you have your reasons and you make some very good points. All i can say is pc gaming is not for everyone. I grew up playing pc games and then got a console. Iv no problem switching between the mouse/keyboard to controller. I prefer each method depending on the game. Also you have the ability to mod games on pc which im not going to get into now. At the end of the day we have similar interests whether you play games on pc or console. Yes i agree that some pc gamers can be a bit in your face about how many P’s they have on screen at any given time but just know that we are not all like that.
I have to say that its been an enjoyable debate and best of luck in the future!

Was this article written by a 10 year old..? It seems more or less you just said that you hate gaming no matter what you play it on. You also complained about idiotic things with PC, and issues/bugs are easily fixable with a single internet search.

    • AndyAce83 September 13, 2014 at 8:56 pm #

Was this blog entry read by a 10 year old?

I do not say I do not like playing games on any platform. In fact, I have renewed rage today (13 of September 2014) as I just bought Dead Rising 2; Off the record on Steam and it says I have played the game for 2 hours. I haven’t played the game for 2 hours, I have spend 2 hours in the start up meny trying to log on to the Xbox Live account over and over and over again.

I had to go to the forums and this was the solution I found:

he fixes given below works for the following errors:
      Error 0x800705b4, Error 0×80072741, Error 0×80151002, Error 0×80151911

You can also try the below fixes if you have any other login issues, who knows it may work out.

      1. Ok so to start with, the first thing you need to make sure is that you have forwarded the necessary ports. You need to forward the following ports-

      TCP 80, UDP 88, UDP 3074, TCP 3074, UDP 53, TCP 53

You can do this by logging into your router. It can be done by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar in any web browser. You need to enter the username as ‘admin’ and password as ‘password’. Go to NAT> Virtual Servers and add the above ports. You can give any sever name for each port like ‘Live1’, ‘Live2’.

      2. Once you have forwarded the necessary ports, it’s time to check if any Firewall or internet security software is blocking the ports. I would recommend you to use the Windows Firewall instead of your internet security software at least during launching the game. You can do this by going to security center. For this you need to type in ‘security center’ in Vista search bar and hit enter. Now click on Firewall and select Windows Firewall.

      3. Adding Firewall exception:

On the left hand pane click on ‘Windows Firewall’ and then click on ‘change settings’. Click on the exceptions tab and add program- Games for Windows Live and click on OK.

      4. Reset/Repair TCPIP Stack

      Click on Start button.

Type Cmd in the Start box and hit enter.

Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator. Allow elevation request.

Type netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.

      Restart the computer.

      5. Changing MTU:

You may need to change MTU. You can do this typing the following in command prompt in Vista:

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface “Local Area Connection” mtu=* store=persistent

      *Recommended Values
      576 – Dial-up Connections
      1492 – PPPoE Broadband Connections
1500 – Ethernet, DSL and Cable Broadband Connections

I changed mine to 1500 as I have broadband connection.

      6. The above things worked for me. If it still doesn’t work then try starting the system without any softwares like antivirus, internet security, etc and launch the game. For doing this you need to type msconfig in Vista start menu and hit enter. You can disable start up programs and also non windows startup services.

      or

      1. Uninstall “Microsoft Games for Windows – LIVE Redistributable” AND “Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace”

      2. Reboot Computer (DON’T SKIP THIS)

      3. Download GFWL here:http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient

      4. Right click the GFWL installer, go to properties and change its compatibility to “Windows 7”. Save and exit.

      5. Right click the installer, and choose “Run as administrator”

      6. After it’s installed, run the GFWL game again.

I tried the last one and it didnt work.

Now I want my money back, but I guess I will spend some more time trying to figure this out. But it is effing annoying!!!

Nice job spewing the same bullshit that everyone else does. Sick and tired of people thinking these myths are truth. Open your eyes and realize that PC is the superior platform.

    • AndyAce83 March 27, 2015 at 12:12 pm #

You know what´s really bullshit? “Open your eyes and realize that PC is the superior platform”. I play on PC and I play on console, but I would never say that PC is a superior platform. Better graphics and that´s it.

Also “spewing the same bullshit that everyone else does”? Who else? Its quite the opposite. Most console gamers don´t flaunt there preference. Its the PC Master Race that called themselves that.

  6. will0956 March 26, 2015 at 3:40 pm #

Because faster load times, better FPS, and the fact that you can emulate virtually any game don’t matter.

    • AndyAce83 March 27, 2015 at 12:16 pm #

I am sure it matters to you.

I would like faster load time but remember that that is based on wether or not your computer is new and has all the right gaming computer hardwarde. So fast loading doesnt equal PC gaming.

Better FPS? I don´t get that? Do you mean better FPS experience? Cuz I don´t think there are a lot of FPS titles that just come for PC. Yes, doing headshots are easier with a mouse, but using controller is more comfortable.

Yes, I have also emulate games on PC but not for long.

      • Tripitus April 9, 2015 at 10:44 pm #

FPS means Frames Per Second. PC, depending on it’s components ofcourse, has almost always had a higher FPS than any consoles out there.

Also, you speak of “PC gamers” as if they’re all the same, as if they all enjoy the same things about PC.

        1. The Graphics
Yes, PC’s are able of better visual quality. So what? Is it wrong of people to want pretty games? Is there something wrong with liking to have an even better ambience? Both sound and visuals add up alot to the experience of a game. Not all games are just about murdering. Sometimes you just like to have a pretty enviroment, which often makes you feel more emersed, which also, often improves your experience with a game.

        2. “I am not ignorant to PC gaming. I know very well what it is; A far too complicated thing to enjoy for the gamer who just wants to play games.”

I just want to play games. I mainly play PC. I can “just”play games on PC just as fine as on a xbox or a playstation. It’s as complicated as you make it. I download a game, I play it. Done. Simple as that.

Being able to go into all folders and them being fully accesible indeed has it’s downsides. It also has it’s upsides. You can change things in it, to change things in the game, it allows for better, easier, and more modding Etc. Etc.

Viruses? Easily can be dealt with. There are tons of free programs out there to protect you from them and remove them.

You complain about alot of stuff which has to do with your own personal skills and personal prefference.

Why buy a PC or laptop in the first place if you don’t want to deal with viruses or whatever?

You don’t need to be a PC guru to deal with any of the patching stuff or viruses. All you need to be able to do is go to the forums of something like Steam, explain what’s the problem in the game, and you’ll have a bunch of people willing to help you and easily explaining it to you. And, next to that, you can still get a refund on it just as easily as with a console game.

If you don’t like using a mouse and keyboard, simple, use a damn controller. You can easily buy a wireless connector for 10$ or less.
You can buy a wired controller for 15$.
Both xbox controllers and Playstation controllers can be used.

That your prefference is to simply download the game quickly and play, nothing else, is your prefference, Just because others don’t share this prefference, doesn’t mean they’re gamers any less.
( Once again, you can do this just as easily on a PC )

You talk about having to buy a 1100$ gaming PC or whatever.
Take 10 minutes out of your day, and you can buy a PC equal to a Titan, an Asus, An Alienware PC, or whatever big brand, for 300$, that can do litterally everything an Xbox One or PS4 can do, and has a ton more options.

PC is litterally everything a console is, except often it can do more, and is capable of more. Console , however, does often get so called “exclusives” first.

        • AndyAce83 April 10, 2015 at 3:25 am #

          You say:
          “FPS means Frames Per Second”

Oh, yes. I thought he meant First person shooter.

          You say:
“Also, you speak of “PC gamers” as if they’re all the same, as if they all enjoy the same things about PC.”

Every time someone talks about a group of people this comes up. I am talking in general based on what I have observed PC gamers talking about. Like when TotalBiscit talked about how some console exclusive games should be ported to PC cuz then they could get 60 fps or whatever.

The advantages of PC gaming, from what I read PC gamers brag about, is 1) modding and 2) better graphics. Those two comes up over and over again.

          You say:
“Yes, PC’s are able of better visual quality. So what? Is it wrong of people to want pretty games?”

No, its not. But higher resolution doesn’t equal prettier games. Its whats being done with the graphics that matter. I´ve been stunned by some very old games. Its not the technology that is important, its how it is used.

          You say:
“I just want to play games. I mainly play PC. I can “just”play games on PC just as fine as on a xbox or a playstation. It’s as complicated as you make it. I download a game, I play it. Done. Simple as that.”

Sometimes it is and sometimes it isnt. But the main point is; If I have problems with a console game, its the disc fault. If I have a problem on steam, its my problem.

          You say:
“You complain about alot of stuff which has to do with your own personal skills and personal prefference.”

I got plenty of skill as far as PC goes. I may not be an “IT guy”, but I know my way around the DOS and have installed games from floppy disc in my time. Its not a question of skill, its a question of wanting. I do not see trouble solving for hours on end as fun. And sometimes it will take hours.

Here is a video example of me spending hours trying to solve a PC game problem

PC has it advantages but it doesnt surpass console. If that were the case more people would be playing PC and Steam would not want to make a console.

  7. Jim October 19, 2015 at 9:28 pm #

What a bullshit blog post. You clearly know nothing about PC’s or PC gaming. Ya sure, ‘back in the day’ PC gaming was more of a hassle than console, but with everything including PC gaming going mainstream, it’s just as easy as console, and cheaper.

Seriously fuck off with your bullshit. If you don’t care about things like power and what not, then pony up the $350 and buy a god damn Xbox One and be happy. Fuck off.

    • AndyAce83 October 20, 2015 at 12:22 am #

      Hello Jim.

I don´t know anything about PC gaming? I know plenty.

I played in dos buddy! I installed games from 3½-inch, high-density diskettes (“copy a: *.*”). I had to tweek the soundcards in this blue display thing, and installed Creative Soundblaster soundcard 16 bit on a 386 (or was it 486?) that only had “PC speaker” (back than that was a peeping thing).

I´ve played doom, doom 2, Heretic, Warcraft 1 and 2, Redneck Rampage, Dune and lots of other games long before the word “plug and play” came into use. Back then we had no choice, you see. We had to play on PC cuz I didnt have money to buy console and it was either PC or console. Now I have the luxury of having both a computer for blogging, facebooking, tweeting, video editing, youtube watching and console for playing games so I do not have to constantly stress about whether or not this game will run on my PC with the current hardware and software. Direct X number what now?

I know plenty about PC gaming buddy. PLEEEEENTY.

And I do own a steam account you nø? I have about 20 games on it. I just never play them. I think my total play time on steam is about 30 hours. That is probably what I have on 1 game on xbox 360. PC gaming sucks, but the PC gaming community is the worst part. Angry idiots like you who talk about how good 2K resolution is. Like that really matters. Here is a fun fucking fact for you… We have had adequate graphics in games since at least 2002! Everything after that has been irrelevant to engage people in good gameplay and stories. Not saying that graphics cant be interesting, but not by itself!!! I would never want to play any games with you and the likes of you. You do not understand what gaming is about and are to concerned with irrelevant things. Also you are patronizing and rather unpleasant and from what I gather that is the norm among PC gamers.

I have always been fascinated by the argument You don´t agree with me, that means you are ignorant“. I will say you are ignorant. Not because you disagree with me about preference but because of how you can´t see a proficient PC user who just dont like to play on PC and do not think graphics are as important as fun.

      Fuck you right back.

      AndyAce83.

PS: I have a Xbone now with 5 games or so. I never play that one either. It collects dust with my Wii. I just bought my second 360 instead so that if my old 8 year old console dies I will still be able to play the games. I know that Xbone says they are gonna be backwards compatible but I dont care. I just dont trust them enough and I dont think every game I have will be able to play on the Xbone.

You’ve been a PC gamer since DOS? I doubt that. Nobody 30+ uses phrases like “Fuuuuu” and we spell hassle properly. Computer Ace was also not a term we used in the 80s and 90s. Just saying 😊

    • AndyAce83 December 1, 2015 at 5:20 pm #

I use “fuuuu” as one of many creative ways to express anger instead of just fuck. Reason being, as an old guy (30+) I find swearing annoying and also find it especially annoying if cencured. Why do people say scriptet “fuck” in youtube videos for instance and then decide to bleep it afterwards? Why?

SAY FUCK or DONT SAY FUCK! Saying “fuuuu” or my favorite “*bleep* you” (especially if you say it out loud) is a way around that, but also funny cuz it really is a meta-swear or a meta- censorship since you do it “live”. But yeah, I dont like excessive swearing, and that is why I choose that expression. Is it slightly below my age range? Perhaps. I just liked it soooo FUUUUUUUU!

So I was born in 1983 (That is why I call my self AndyAce83) meaning I am old as sin to some, and still a young man to others. I feel like a 100 years old, but that my body is slowly reaching my mental age.

I dont know what “computer ace” has to do with anything. It just was a way to express “geek” or “idiot savant” computer skills.

    • MacnHack April 27, 2016 at 8:28 am #

Dos was sure a beast to setup as you had to make sure sound cards and video cards did not conflict with each other as some games required one brand for non crappy performance and other games required off the wall brand.

Sound Blaster 16 usually did the trick for 80 percent of the software as SB16 took just about anything you could throw at it including full length audio.

      • AndyAce83 April 27, 2016 at 5:31 pm #

Oh, how I remember those days. A blue screen and trial and error. “Will it work on that set-up?” No sound. Ok, back and try again. “How about that set-up?” Oh, now it works. Cuz it wasnt just the soundcard to choose from I think. There was like a choice after the choice and if one did the wrong one it didnt work or it didnt work probably. I cant remember.

I remember even playing games with a PC-speaker. You know, the one who just peeped? Didnt have a soundcard, so it was just blepity, bleep, bleep.

I only had Soundblaster I think. I even installed it on my own, on my fathers computer. I know what master and slave is. I know where to put what on 360 up to pentium 3. After that I have no idea how the computers look like. If they look the same, I can still do it, but I havent been inside a PC tower in years.

  9. Shmeed January 17, 2016 at 6:21 am #

This is a old post but this was the closest thing to what I was searching for, I don’t hate PC or console as I have ps3/ps4 and steam. The thing I hate is when I’m looking up how to fix bugs or glitches 85 – 90% of answers is from PC gamers and the answer is always the same “use console command” that does not help as the fixes you can do in game usually work on PC, unless the specific game has console rights to patches and fixes/ early doc BS

    • Shmeed January 17, 2016 at 6:24 am #

      * early access dlc BS, sorry auto correct is also BS

    • AndyAce83 January 17, 2016 at 9:35 am #

I am afraid I dont understand what use console commandis, but I do know one thing… The first ones to reply to a forum question are always the least helpful.

I dont know why, but people love to “help”, but they rarely do. I remember one story in particular. I was making let´s plays and recorded on a PC but edited on a mac. The files that were made was .TS and for some reason that could not be used on mac. So I googled it and found a forum post.

The first to reply said: “Oh, can´t be helped. You need to install a converter software. It will cost you 200$”. Anyway, scrolling downwards I read “change the file name from .TS to mpeg.” And it effing WORKED!!!

But yeah, that is my complaint about forums in general.

  10. Sergio Iribe April 17, 2016 at 1:40 am #

I agree with the first and third complaints. Street Fighter IV barely runs with my 2006 media-center PC. With Windows XP’s secret (April 2014 through 2017) extended support about to end, my childhood fear of having my PC “obsolete” is creeping back into reality. At least, for a fallback, I have vintage console games to emulate.

May I also use advanced formatting for my comments?

    • AndyAce83 April 17, 2016 at 1:54 pm #

I was about to buy a new computer and I looked at the alienware thing. Jeez that was expensive!!!

It cost far more to buy a computer for gaming than a console… IF they dont realize a new console every two years or so. If a console has a 10 year circle with forward compatibility, then PC is the most expensive plattform around.

      *You say:*
“May I also use advanced formatting for my comments?”

Sure. Its called HTML code. Although it is more difficult for regular commentator do do that on wordpress as you are not allowed to edit your comments after posting.

  11. MacnHack April 27, 2016 at 8:25 am #

What I can’t stand about PC gaming is not the actual gamers as I do things so low (solo) mode and don’t see or hear them! 🙂 What I HATE though is Microsoft screws up compatibility and offers no help and expects people to just sit back and shut up.

The real killer was the switch to 64 bit computing as entire motherboard configurations changed. 3D adventure games like New Adventure of the Time Machine that is graphic intense will crash after the first movie scene and in some cases not even ALLOW you to install it period.

Simple games like a lot of educational games *Oregon Trail Deluxe* that don’t require much CPU resources surprisingly work even on new machines.

I have 18 Wheels of Steel *Haulin* (2007) working on Windows 10 PRO and even remembered my saved files from 7 Pro so I don’t have to start over with a crappy truck but Windows 10 PRO has virtualization mode where the home version does NOT.

Windows XP over 60 percent of stuff that was on 9X kernal had some chance of working if you knew what you were doing and a lot of virtual machines that run older OS machines like Virtual Box and VPC2007 instructions are written with XP users in mind so if XP itself failed you could virtualize Windows 98 or 95 or heck even 3.1 if you had a bootable floopy image.

Today emulating older OS systems is impossible and I have never gotten them to work unless the emulator is really simple with clear concise instructions and links not dead.

    • AndyAce83 April 27, 2016 at 5:42 pm #

There was a lot of games I had to google here 😉

I´ve used DosBox and that worked fine on Warcraft on windows 8. I havent tried it on windows 10, but I think that is fine.

As for games that are made for windows I dont know. I wonder if my Warcraft 3 will work on Win10. I havent tried it, but sometimes I wonder if I should play it again.

I hope warcraft comes with a new game. I dont like World of Warcraft. There is nothing WARcrafty about it. Same universe, but no strategy or anything. Why did they have to screw the main series for that stupid spin-off? I play StarCraft but its not really the same.

  12. 真瑠 June 20, 2016 at 2:35 pm #

Games work much better in consoles. In PCs, games have lots of bugs, crashes, compatibility problems…
And it makes me sick that PC snobs always mention that PC games have better graphics. That is only right in the case of the most expensive computers on sale, but not true about t a middle-spec computer. Also, the human eye can barely appreciate those minimal graphical improvements. Numbers (FPS, GB of RAM, etc) don’t mean shyt by themselves. It is in practice when the results are clearly shown, and the graphical differences are infinitesimally small.
Consoles are an affordable way of getting games with around 8/10 graphic quality, no installing or compatibility issues, and also nowadays it’s almost impossible to pirate console games, which keeps the industry healthy.

Just for the laughs, let me include two funny links:

One question remains for me though.
Up until this day i have been playing on Pc for almost 9 years, yet i was never aware someone hated me for doing so 😦
The question is, why the fuck do you care on which platform i play? We will never ever meet, nor will my gaming platform ever have any influence in your life.
As to your points, i cannot agree 😦 I wanted to play witcher 3, so i bought witcher 3, i installed the game and then i started playing. On my 6 years old Computer. I got a stable 30 fps on medium graphics, the Pc cost me only about 400 euro back then.
For lazy people like your, with little to no knowledge about Computers there are very convenient programs that automatically update all of your drivers, redist and directx, so all u have to do is click a button and everything works like magic 🙂
Besides if a game does not work on a console, well then ur fucked, if it doesn t work on pc at least u have a way of fixing it.

    • AndyAce83 August 31, 2016 at 4:53 am #

I dont hate you. I dont even know you. Relax. It´s called hyperbole; “exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.”

In fact I am a PC gamer myself, when I have to. Right now I am playing Umbrella Corp on steam as it was the only option, without buying a compleatly new console (I only own Xbone).

And then stuff like this happens:

But I do hate PC gamers in general, and the reason are things like this –> https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/

      “The PC master race”.

Gah! That attitude. I just then, dedicate some time to ridiculing by pointing out the facts and the reasons why some people prefer console… as it can be a FUCKING STRIFE to play on PC.

    • AndyAce83 December 26, 2016 at 11:49 am #

If you mean it´s better in graphics, then yes. Mouse sensitivity is a better way to do head shots and play RTS too. If you mean in all other aspects, then no. Console is a far better experience.

  19. A Person December 29, 2016 at 1:47 am #

Dude, Being a PC gamer, I realize there are flaws in our methods. Unfortunately your info appears to be outdated. Things have vastly improved from those dark day of “insert disc 2” and “Sign up here for your free pack”. But you gotta admit we’ve got the best of both worlds. PC gaming is evolving in every way, everyday. Basically you were doing the basic console present thing and blaming PC gamers for our small flaws, while completely ignoring your own. e.g. PC you have to work out bugs on your own. (a) no you dont, theirs a missive community on redit and places like that. (b) We get regular updates to all our games from the devs and (c) Even if you wernt incredible at using a computer, its highly unlikely its the computers fault. Just an issue in the code.

Also just to note: If you had a descent PC, this would never had happened. A new version of PC just dosnt come out and suddenly you cant play any of your games and your dissapointed with the OS or something, our way we are basically future-proof.

    • AndyAce83 December 29, 2016 at 12:35 pm #

PC has three advantages: 1) graphics and 2) mouse for ease of use with head shots 3) mods/ easy to cheat (https://andyace83.wordpress.com/2015/11/04/i-hate-modding-in-games/)

Console has these advantages: 1) ease of use (plug and play), 2) focus on innovative gameplay (wii, kinect, move), 3) far more social/ easy multiplayer, 4) Comfort of playing in your living room (couch gaming), 5) better cheat control /standardization of play, 6) better consumer rights, 7) most games are done when they are published and is not patch based, 8) cheaper hardware, 9) Less stupid indie retrogames with 8-bit style, 10) More variating partygames (rockband, buzz, dance, dance revolution) 11) A cheap comfortable community of gamers who enjoy stories and gameplay, not pixels by inch and frames pr second.

      You say:
“Unfortunately your info appears to be outdated. Things have vastly improved from those dark day of “insert disc 2” and “Sign up here for your free pack””

Although my hatered for PC gaming has been going on for many years, I am fully aware that most games now is downloaded of the nett, not disc based.

      You say:
“But you gotta admit we’ve got the best of both worlds. PC gaming is evolving in every way, everyday. ”

Well so does console gaming. In fact if you see Xbox 360 from its beginning until the end you will se a lot of changes made and improvements. Yes, its bound by its standardized hardware, but good game developers experiment within the frames.

      You say:
“Basically you were doing the basic console present thing and blaming PC gamers for our small flaws, while completely ignoring your own”

No I did not ignore the faults of console. The first part of my entry was about how Xbone was a change for the worse. HALF of my entry was dedicated to flaws of console.

Also, something to take note of, its not “my flaws”. I am a console gamer, that does not make me responsible for the flaws of consoles. That shows that you take the PC gaming vs console gaming personal. I do not. I just prefer console, and find it annoying how PC gamers rant on and on about how much better they are. But in the end, I am a gamer. I play the games I want on the plattform I prefer.

      You say:
“PC you have to work out bugs on your own. (a) no you dont, theirs a missive community on redit and places like that. (b) We get regular updates to all our games from the devs and (c) Even if you wernt incredible at using a computer, its highly unlikely its the computers fault. Just an issue in the code.”

Just an issue in the code. Yeah, that is easy to solve. And the updates from the developers are often damage control of problems that shouldnt have been there in the first place.

      You say:
“Also just to note: If you had a descent PC, this would never had happened. A new version of PC just dosnt come out and suddenly you cant play any of your games and your dissapointed with the OS or something, our way we are basically future-proof.”

You are not future proof. You have to buy the latest tech to enjoy the latest games. When Resident Evil 7 comes out, I do not have to see if the game will be able to play on my console. I know it will. So I can just relax and wait.

        PC has these advantage
        1. Upgradable hardware
        2. Freedom
        3. Cheaper games
        4. Large selection of mods
        5. Better graphic
        6. Cheaper games
        7. Multiple monitor display
        8. a lot more custumazation
        9. so many free to play games
        10. Great performance
        11. Better community
        12. emulation
        13. Fan projects
        14. Use of any inputs
        15. large selection of games and exclusives
        16. No need to pay to online game
        17. Ability to key bindings
        18. choice of OS
        19. cheaper
        20. Fan fixes
        21. Build your own specs
        22. No generations

        While PC has these disadvantages
        1. Piracy

        1. You can build a powerfull gaming PC for only $350 and it easily can outperform any consoles.

        2. You dont have to upgrade every year. you can upgrade whatever you want

        3. If somehow there is a hacker there is a admin that will banned those people

        4. PC has a lot more exclusives. On console you cant play some genres such as strategy

        5. If you are hate PC gamer/ fanboy/ elitist Then why you are offended by facts?

I am not a fanboy or a hater. But i always prefer PC because those advantages i said above. But however seeing your PC advantages is almost make me laugh.you barely know anything on PC. Sorry for bad english..

        • AndyAce83 January 4, 2017 at 3:53 pm #

Well, you wrote a long list here. Your passion for PC gaming is apparent. Let me reply with each point.

          PC has these advantage
          1. Upgradable hardware

Sometimes console also alow this. One can buy external hard-drives. One can also buy extra stuff. Usually it bombs though and is expensive.

          2. Freedom
Freedom is relative. I mean console gamers also have freedom to play the games they want, when they want. Without having to troubelshoot. That is a freedom.

          3. Cheaper games
Yeah, I bought a few cheap games on steam. Boy, many of them such. I also bought games on Steam sale. I think I have about 40 games in my steam library now. I havent played many of them.

The problem with low prices is that one buy much and dont really enjoy any of them. Its like the cheap DVD/Blue-Ray bin in stores. So much braindead waste.

          4. Large selection of mods
I wrote an entry about modding: https://andyace83.wordpress.com/2015/11/04/i-hate-modding-in-games/

In short: I am really ambivalent towards it.
Fallout 4 has added a modding tool on Xbox One. I havent tried it yet, cuz I am waiting for the game of the year edition of the game. But I will. But modding is…

          5. Better graphic
Yes… And no. First of, a PC do NOT make a games graphic better (you know this). If I buy a game from 2002 it will look like it came from 2002. It is true that newer games will look better on PC if the game developers did do so.

The problem can be lags and chopped framrates. I play Star Craft 2 on PC. And it starts to chop fast.

Here is me playing StarCraft 2: 4v4-

          6. Cheaper games
HEY! That´s cheating! You allready said cheap games. Well, again… Cheap isnt always good.

          7. Multiple monitor display
Never tried it. Never tried VR either. Or games with 3d visuals (I have Doom 3 it had 3d)

          8. a lot more custumazation
Plenty of customization on console to.

          9. so many free to play games
I made some videos on that subject too.

          —-

          10. Great performance
Not when you have to get on the forums. Not all the times, it does not.

          11. Better community
Oh, I seriously disagree with that one. The PC gaming community is NOT better than console. In fact, let me requote my blog here:

“All gamers are nerds in some way. If you enjoy bragging about what types of resolution your game have your sort of forgot what gaming is all about.”

          12. emulation
Yeah. And sometimes one emulates console games from the 8 and 16 bit era. Most of the other pro´s are gone then. Also one can “emulate” on Wii by buying nintendo games there. And also I think one can emulate on Xbox One. But it does take some forum checking to get it done.

          http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/microsoft-just-approved-an-nes-emulator-on-xbox-one-1328348

          13. Fan projects
Yeah. I have seen some of them on steam.

          14. Use of any inputs

          15. large selection of games and exclusives
Most of them suck. No man sky… Remeber that one?

          16. No need to pay to online game
We get free (licensed and quality) games now though.

          17. Ability to key bindings
Dont even know what that means.

          18. choice of OS
What is the advantages of that? I choose mac, so I can never play games again?

          19. cheaper
Software (games) are cheaper, hardware is more expensive. And the quality of games on PC… Well… we all know the lack of quality on steam, dont we?

          20. Fan fixes
          Shouldnt have been necessary.

          21. Build your own specs
Boring to most people who just want to play games. I may enjoy movies, dont feel like building a DVD or blue-ray player.

          22. No generations
No. No. No. No. Although you can “hack”, “mod”, and spend time on the forums trying to get past it there are PLENTY of generations on PC gaming. OS support. Hardware support. I tried to play Carmageddon 2 on my PC… I got the menu.

          You say:
“I am not a fanboy or a hater. But i always prefer PC because those advantages i said above.”

I think its safe to say that you are a fan boy, based on this list and also that you somehow got to this blog. You would not have read this blog if you didnt care.

          You say:
“you barely know anything on PC. “

Why do people keep saying that? I know plenty.

If we disagreed on a movie and I said it was bad and you thought it was good. Would you also then claimed ignorance on me? I have a bachelors degree in films.

I have spent years on PC gaming.

          HERE! Watch this:

          “You say:
          “”Sorry for bad english..”

I dont care about stuff like that. First of, not very good at spelling myself and secondly as long as I can understand what you are writing it should be fine.

            • AndyAce83 January 5, 2017 at 12:53 pm #

That was humble of you 🙂 So let me be humble as well.

Only one thing is true: PC or console is a preference thing.

This blog entry is just a hyperbolic statement of my preference and a reaction to PC gamers thinking they are better for their preference.

In the end… Its all good 😉

              • victor January 5, 2017 at 3:12 pm #

So basicly all of this is just hyperbole I mean i don’t get it man…..

                • AndyAce83 January 5, 2017 at 5:16 pm #

Yes. I am a console player by preference, but I do own a steam account. I have 40-50 games there. Mostly retro games (old games NOT new indie games with retro graphic).

I bought Umbrella corp on it as I am a resident evil fan and it didn’t come Xbone.

                  I play(ed) Starcraft 2 and RTS like WarCraft 1-3.

It’s a false dicthomy from PC elitists that console gamers don’t play on PC. We do… when we “have” to.

I like to kick smug people in the balls and that is what I tried to do here.

By the look of the comments I’d say mission accomplished 😉

But please don’t say that the PC community is better than console. Bunch of patronizing besserwissers seem to be the norm.

  20. Gabe December 29, 2016 at 1:48 pm #

I never liked Playstation: About this, performance is needed, can you play bf1 at a constant 60fps on your xbone? No, because it is NOT powerful enough to do such graphical intense jobs. And yes, “who cares, 30 fps is still smooth”, No, too much blur is added and the quality is just bad. How can you say that the ps4 has no innovation? In hardware terms, they made a console that is 1. smaller than the xbone, 2. build in power supply, which the xbone doesn’t have. So, this console is just not only easier to place somewhere, but imo it looks better on any place, I don’t need a biga$$ shoebox on my desk.

    Constant compatibility stress!:
Firstly, you never buy a mac to play games. Macs are for other purposes. Get a windows desktop for gaming. I never experienced compatability issues, if you do, use windows 7, as it is the most stable windows os with good features. You don’t need to buy a new pc to play an expansion pack like you would with a console (assuming that the pack is released for newer generations only).
Installing games is not a con, harddrives and ssds can read data much faster, your loading times will be decreased and your performance increased. Thus, you get more time to play. Installing a game on a ssd mostly takes up to 10-20 minutes. Not a big deal.
Never buy budget computers for gaming. Consoles have a lifespan of about 5 years, thus buy a pc that will have the same lifespan. This might cost you more than a console, but you will earn the money back with the more games you buy and besides that, almost everybody has a pc for (home)work. Combine that pc with the console and you will roughly come on the same price. When a new game only works on a new gen console, you can also play it on your “outdated” computer on lower settings or fps boosting tweaks. Great!
About bugs and glitches. A console is nothing more than a computer. If a new game doesn’t run great, it’s probably because the developers didn’t fix those issues yet. If for example your harddrive is failing, you will notice it even without gaming, this goes for every component.
Windows 10 comes with xbox controler compatabilty and there are also 3rd party controlers just for pc, for example logitech makes them. You don’t need to be an expert to follow somebodies tutorials. Google is your best friend.

Please think of what you write first, because all your arguments are bad. How can you say that pc gamers are not gamers? What is the difference on playing a game that looks beautiful on a pc and ugly on a console? It’s the same damn game where the hardware of the console is limiting the performance on the game. Would you prefer playing the same game on low or high settings, leaving out all the “pc costs much more, console this, pc that”?
A pc will always win, there is no way a console is beating the pc except for its own exclusive features and games. A pc can do everything that a console can do and much more.

      You say:
“I never liked Playstation: About this, performance is needed, can you play bf1 at a constant 60fps on your xbone?”

I dont know. I dont play Battlefield. But if I did I would not care if it was 60 fps, but whether or not I enjoyed the game. Who cares?

The question I ask with people too concerned about speck details (frames pr second, resolution etc) is: If I only have a DVD player (and I did for a long time. I got a blue-ray when I got the xbone, but only own 3-4 Blue-ray movies) does that not make me a movie buff? I have 3-400 DVDs. I dont care if its in HD. I am not distracted by it at all. When I watched my first Blue-Ray movie I was not “Wow, this is a difference”, I was “Okay… I guess the picture is sharper”.

I call them technophiles. People more concerned with tech than its use. As I think I said in my blogentry, at times I am not even sure if PC gamers are gamers at all, as the focus is ALWAYS on the graphics, NOT the game as a whole.

      You say:
“How can you say that the ps4 has no innovation?”

It was a statement of preference, and also a reference to the fact that PS4 users ALSO are very concerned with how “powerful” the console is. They are like the PC gamers of the console world. They always have been. I remeber how the PS2 was so “powerful” that it could hack the pentagon or something. Its true, I read it somewhere that it was so powerful it had unlimited possibilities. Nonsense.

I will say this: If I was concerned about “powerful” PC would win over PS every time.

      You say:
      “Constant compatibility stress!:
Firstly, you never buy a mac to play games.”

      I know that.

But it was my most powerful computer and Starcraft was compatible.

      You say:
“Please think of what you write first, because all your arguments are bad. ”

Well if you say so 😉 Hahahahoooo….

      You say:
“A pc will always win, there is no way a console is beating the pc except for its own exclusive features and games.”

Well if you say so 😉 Hahahahoooo….

      You say:
“A pc can do everything that a console can do and much more.”

Except… of course not being a pain, being user friendly and dealing with the anarchy of cheaters.

      • Gabe December 29, 2016 at 3:20 pm #

I dont care if its in HD.
If your mind stays on that thought, you might as well go back to the late 40’s. The point is. We improve tech bit by bit. I don’t see why people would stick on old technology. Yes, new tech gets released every year, but you don’t need to stick on that ages old system.
To be honest, I’ve been a pc gamer for over 7 years and I never encountered any cheaters except in call of duty (mw2/mw3). Ofcourse it depends on the games that you play and the region that you live in
Windows might not be that user friendly, but there are tons of books and guides on how to use windows, so you can learn to use this new technology. I think windows is pretty user friendly as I grew up with it and I know how everything works. For me, mac os is the worst as I think some things are unlogical placed. Just like android/ios. It’s all personal preference.

        • AndyAce83 December 29, 2016 at 4:05 pm #

          You say:
“We improve tech bit by bit. I don’t see why people would stick on old technology.”

Because new isn’t always better. It isn’t gold all that shines.

It’s like with 3D movies. Technophiles probably think it’s a very important step forward. People who enjoy movies find it often a nauseating distraction.

NES mini was a huge success. What does that tell you? Do you think it’s in 3k? Or is it 4K? Who cares?!

Good games isn’t just about fps or resolution. It’s about fun and innovation in storytelling and gameplay.

          You say:
“I’ve been a pc gamer for over 7 years and I never encountered any cheaters except in call of duty (mw2/mw3).”

And how do you know that? Do they call themselves cheaters in the nick?

          You say:
“Windows might not be that user friendly, but there are tons of books and guides on how to use windows, so you can learn to use this new technology”

So now it’s a “windows problem”? No, it’s a PC problem. And you obvious don’t get my point at all when you write “there are tons of books and guides on how to..” Who the hell wants to read TONS OF BOOKS if they want to play a fucking game? I read books and how too’s on photoshop, scriptwriting, after effects, premiere pro, 3D modeling and GarageBand… but when I play a game I just want a to play that fucking game!

Been gaming for 20 years and I think you need to just go play golf. Gaming is something to love, not hate. You trashed EVERY console and the PC. We have the most advanced gaming options in history and you think they all suck. You sound like a 12 year old that wants everything and doesn’t understand that things aren’t perfect. In my 20 years of gaming I haven’t had as many problems as you seem to have. And when I did it was usually because I was trying some PC tweak that I shouldn’t have. Simple fact: PC can’t offer customizations to the extent it does without some of those problems. Your arguments against consoles were simplistic. Go play checkers if you still want to call yourself a “gamer.”

    • AndyAce83 December 29, 2016 at 7:01 pm #

” You trashed EVERY console and the PC. ”

I have been honest. I still prefer console, but recognized the flaws. Not trashing.

Also this blog entry was written during the launch of Xbone (it was posted in 2014!), and they have been doing a lot of good of late. Like backwards compatibility and more userfriendly policies. I still prefer Xbox 360 though, for its more bright and colorful interface and how achivments are delt etc. But I have the Xbone and I play on the Xbone without hating it.

“We have the most advanced gaming options in history and you think they all suck.”

Back in 2014 Xbone DID suck! Do you not remeber it? If NOT here is a video I made about Xbone when it came out:

yea.. hate PC gamers all you want bruh. PC gamer here. and just so you know. you’re whats wrong with console gamers. starting out with “i hate” pretty much says how petty are you. i don’t see anything wrong with console gamers. even now servers are now being set up to let console gamers and PC gamers share the gaming experience. and alot computers these days are “plug and play” welcome to steam. “easy multiplayer” well yea that depends on games you play bruh!! “Comfort of playing in your living room (couch gaming)” My PC supports TV streaming. and i can use Xbox handset wireless headset on my couch. ” most games are done when they are published and is not patch based” you are dumb ass.. GTA 5 and Ark Oh and star trek online, final fantasy 14 final fantasy 11. Do you even know anything about PC gamers? sounds like you don’t know much of console gaming ether.

both worlds are now sharing gaming space all the time. cross compatibly is become more of a thing than it ever has. you really need chill the fuck out

“just so you know. you’re whats wrong with console gamers. starting out with “i hate” pretty much says how petty are you. ”

Hahahaahoooo… Yeah, PC gamers are love, peace and harmony. Wow, you guys really are religious. And really butthurt by my little entry too.

YOU GUYS are the ones who call yourself the “PC Master Race”! You call us “Peasants”! Stop with this stupid hypocrisy.

      You say:
“you are dumb ass.. GTA 5 and Ark Oh and star trek online, final fantasy 14 final fantasy 11. Do you even know anything about PC gamers? sounds like you don’t know much of console gaming ether.”

Its not the same as with PC games. Console games are playable before being published. Its the PC games that need day 1 patch.

      You say:
“both worlds are now sharing gaming space all the time. cross compatibly is become more of a thing than it ever has. you really need chill the fuck out”

I am not the one getting prissy over a tounge-in-cheek blog entry.

Your first problem is based on your personal experience. Been a lifetime PC gamer I never have any compatibility stress. Unless I am still using very old operating system. Secondly you used a Mac for gaming, well then of course you’ll have many compatibility issues. Get a windows gaming PC instead if you want to play your games. Apple never advertise their macs can do gaming but they promise that it can do heavy workstation stuff like rendering video and stuff like that. If you’re worrying about compatibility stress, install Windows 7. It’s great OS and stable.

How installing is a problem? Oh come on how hard is it to find the directory where you put the game files and wait up to 40 minutes?(depend on hard drive and SSD) An SSD can load game and install your games faster but they’re expensive and has less capacity than a harddrive.

Do not buy a cheap computer for gaming. It may cost more than a console but you get so much more for your money. A decent gaming PC that can last years cost up to 350$ or less and it can easily outperform a PS4 or an xbox one. Not to mention you can aslo use it for doing other thing besides gaming like doing homework, video editing and so much more. And another good thing is that you don’t have to pay for online gaming so that aslo increase the value of PC gaming. And don’t even bringing me crap like you got “free” games because it’s not actually free. If your PSN /XBL subscription expires you’ll lose all those games and you can’t choose it.

If the new game comes out on next gen consoles and your PC does not run it pretty well, then did you know that you can change the graphical settings? Yes! So you can change the graphic to the lowest so you can still make your game playable on “outdated” computer. Can you do that on a console?

You don’t have have to be a nerd to solve issues on PC. Google is your best friend or go to the forum like steam or whatever then describes your issues and you’ll have tons of people that willing to help to solve the issue. There’s aslo a video on you that explaining how to solve the issue!.

About the bugs and glitches. This caused by developer that is incompetent and lazy to make a good PC ports. If a new game comes out and it’s buggy it is caused by the developer who did not patch those issues yet before the game released.

You talk about PC has hacker and viruses. First of all, console does aslo have hacker as well. Secondly, hacker depend on what game you’re playing, servers and location. If you’re playing very old game then yes, you’ll have bigger chance of dealing with hacker. But the good news is that most of the servers on PC does have anti-cheating and very rarely seeing a hacker even if i did they’ll banned instantly and permanently. About the viruses. Well make sure you have the latest OS patch and an antivirus install on your computer. There’re many usefull free antivirus like Bitdefender or avast!. Or better not buy a PC at the first place if you do not want to deal with viruses.

Again you can use your ANY controller that you want. Windows 10 does support have native xbox controllers. You can aslo use Playstation dualshock. And you don’t have to install driver to use it. And even steam is aslo make their controller as well.

You can aslo do couch gaming on PC aswell. Hook up your PC to your TV with HDMI or whatever and then use Steam big picture to make your navigation is easier.

“ A cheap comfortable community of gamers who enjoy stories and gameplay, not pixels by inch and frames pr second.”

Okay so if console gamer don’t care about pixel per in inch and frames per second then why even develop as PS4 then? What the reason of having “next gen consoles” because afterall you just said resolution and frame rates don’t matter so why not just keep releasing games on Nintendo 64 with stagnated visuals? Why don’t you game on on 144p and only 4 fps then? See this is non point. Console gamer do not care about resoluton so therefore console are better?. You aslo talk about PC gamer aren’t gamer at all just because they want to make the game work what they want. What wrong with those people? Is it wrong to enjoy game on higher graphical fidelity. Would you rather spend little more time to make the game run better than just simply playing game that run like crap? Not every game in existense is about killing and solving things. Sometimes you aslo like to enjoy how beautiful the enviroment is. And it does make your gaming expirence nicer and beautiful. But of course this is depending on the componets but most most of them does have higher FPS than consoles out there. The reason why a lot of PC gamer do this is because the console hardware is just simply limited on what they can do.

The only reason why console is still alive is because these so called “exclusives” titles. PC IS superior gaming platform.

    • AndyAce83 June 4, 2017 at 8:09 pm #

      Hello…

      You say:
“Your first problem is based on your personal experience. Been a lifetime PC gamer I never have any compatibility stress. Unless I am still using very old operating system.”

I ofcourse talk mainly about my personal experience it would be difficult to talk about any others 😉

Compatibility problems go both ways though. Old games dont play on new PCs and new games dont play on old. And the problem, unlike on console, is that it PC will slowly become incompatible. Meaning that it will at one point just not work proper anymore.

With a console the game WILL work or it will NOT work. There wont be a game I buy that may work on a very low resolution set-up.

      You say
“Secondly you used a Mac for gaming, well then of course you’ll have many compatibility issues.”

It seems this has gotten a lot of attention, that I used a mac. I only used a mac on ONE game and that was StarCraft 2 and it was because at the time of StarCraft 2 it was my best computer and SC2 was compatible.

      You say:
      “How installing is a problem?”

It depends on the game of course, but having to write install keys for instance can be a hassle. Also the time it can take. But all of these things has changed somewhat with steam. Now its more that only one profile can own the game even though you pay full price. So I cant borrow it to others. But that too is a problem of variating degrees. Also installing has become an issue with Xbone too.

      You say:
“Do not buy a cheap computer for gaming.”

In short I never buy a PC for gaming. I always have other focus and then just hope it will be good. I use PC for computing (text writing, blogging, video editing etc.) and console for playing games. But I do hope that buying a “powerful” computer gives me the possibility to play some games on steam if I want to.

      You say:
” If your PSN /XBL subscription expires you’ll lose all those games and you can’t choose it.”

I dont think that is true for XBL. I dont know about PS. I was negative towards XBL payments when I just bought the Xbox 360. After I started to pay for it I dont mind anymore. The social aspekts of console is far better than on say… Steam.

      You say:
“If the new game comes out on next gen consoles and your PC does not run it pretty well, then did you know that you can change the graphical settings? Yes! “

Yes, I did know that. Did you know you could also do it on console, but there you only have to do it if you want to.

      You say;
“You don’t have have to be a nerd to solve issues on PC. Google is your best friend or go to the forum like steam or whatever then describes your issues and you’ll have tons of people that willing to help to solve the issue. There’s aslo a video on you that explaining how to solve the issue!.”

      I allready addressed this —>

      You say:
“This caused by developer that is incompetent and lazy to make a good PC ports. ”

This has always fascinated me. Arent ALL games created on PC first? 3d modelling, programming etc. The PC should be the original version than console should get ports.

      You say:
“Okay so if console gamer don’t care about pixel per in inch and frames per second then why even develop as PS4 then?”

First of, many people didnt jump over from 360 to Xbone until games were made EXCLUSIVELY to Xbone. Like REsident evil 7. Some even stoped playing games all together or went over to (God forbid) PC gaming. So no, the next gen thing is decided by producers, not the console gamers.

      You say:
“The only reason why console is still alive is because these so called “exclusives” titles. PC IS superior gaming platform.”

Nope. Its because some people like pixels by inch, 4K and other distractions and others like to play games and have fun.

Dude you are just a filthy console gaming peasant .THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE!!! You don’t know a damn thing about PC gaming. You said you could not play latest games on the PC after a few years well can you play a Xbox 360 game on an Xbox one stupid .At least the PC can run latest games at low setting.

    • AndyAce83 August 28, 2017 at 11:05 am #

Yesterday I bought Fallout 4 with all the DLCs on Xbox One. What fascinated me was that one of the AIs said my name! He said “Mr Andy!” and my character was called Andy. It amazed me. You know what I didnt notice?

That the game was running on 30 fps.

That is the difference between snobs and real gamers.
